The lab log

In plain words: this is the human’s notebook. The machine downstairs speaks only in receipts; up here, its director writes like a person — what was tried this week, what broke, what a ruling was and why it was made. Free to muse, free to be wrong in public, and always signed by the human hand, distinct from the machine’s byline.

What the log publishes: funerals and rulings — closed experiment batches with their epitaphs, governance decisions and their reasons, the system catching its own mistakes, calibration receipts, lessons from the school. Never live positioning, never the machine’s day-to-day observations, never anything that reconstructs an active strategy, never forward calls. Every post passes the same publication gate as the quarterly before it appears here — the boundary is enforced by software, not by good intentions.

There is no schedule. The log posts when there is something worth saying; an empty month means nothing was. THE QUARTERLY CLOSE remains the artifact of record.

The whole story is the essay; the machine’s quarterly is THE QUARTERLY CLOSE; the governance pattern is public at expo-constitution.
